Adobe's Creative Cloud Is Here with New Versions of All the Apps

Adobe's Creative Cloud was announced a month ago, and it is now becoming available to everyone. With the new Creative Cloud, despite the name, Adobe isn't switching to a new software model, just a new payments model.

Customers will still be able to use the same old Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and so on, but will have to pay a monthly subscription rather than buy them outright.

Adobe does offer some cloud options with the new apps, i.e. cloud storage and sharing, but nothing compelling enough to warrant this big change. The motivation behind the move is revenue and revenue alone.

That said, Creative Cloud subscribers are now able to get their hands on the latest Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, Adobe Muse CC, Dreamweaver CC, Edge Animate CC, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC, and other tools normally included in the Creative Suite.

The "cloud" part takes the form of a Dropbox clone which offers file sync and sharing, but this is just for the web, as the desktop app doesn't support file syncing just yet. Settings, custom brushes, and so on, will also be synchronized between devices.

Finally, subscribers also get a Behance profile to showcase their work.
