FirstRow Sports Streaming Site to Be Blocked by UK ISPs

Streaming site FirstRow Sports will be blocked off by Internet providers from the United Kingdom after the High Court sent out an order.

The FirstRow website has approximately a million visitors each day and offers streams to major sporting events, including English Soccer League. The Premier League’s legal team has been trying to get the site down for some time now.

Backed up by UEFA, the PGA European Toru and the Rugby Football Union, FirstRow, they finally managed to get a blocking order for the website, TorrentFreak reports.

According to the judge, while FirstRow itself doesn’t host any streams, it is responsible for the copyright infringements that occur on the site.

The case is made worse since sports bars and pubs use the unauthorized streams in their establishments.

FirstRow owner classifies the verdict as “nonsense” and that the site only indexes user-generated content from external sites.

He claims that blocking FirstRow will not stop the streams since they can still be accessible online.
