A Gamers Week: July 21

As we are nearing the end of July, the only review we deliver this week is for Bit.Trip.Fate on the PC, an interesting experience for those who appreciate an experience that challenges their expectations.

We also have the usual Weekend Reading pieces: one dealing with the continuing battle between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, even before launch, and another about the way Steam Trading Cards might signal the coming of a secondary market from Valve.

We also enter the final stages of my simulated Tour de France, which today reaches Paris in its Pro Cycling Manager 2013 virtual incarnation.

As always, we also have a selection of the most important pieces of news from the last seven days.

On Monday, a leak revealed the content for the Collector's Edition of Batman: Arkham Origins, and the team at NetherRealm revealed that Martian Manhunter is set join the cast of Injustice in the coming weeks.

Tuesday, developers talked about the state of the coming title update 12 for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, and EA Sports revealed that the United Kingdom cover for FIFA 14 features Gareth Bale alongside Lionel Messi.

Wednesday, Bethesda talked about the significance of the next generation of consoles for their games, and Volition confirmed that Johnny Gat is coming back to star in Saints Row 4 late in August.

Thursday, FIFA 14 once again came up, as 19 teams from Brazil were confirmed as being fully simulated, and BioWare delivered a new expanded teaser image for their Dragon Age: Inquisition.

On Friday, Warner Bros. revealed the Copperhead woman assassin enemy that will appear in Batman: Arkham Origins, while Turn 10 talked about the DLC potential for Forza Motorsport 10.

Saturday, the NPD Group delivered the sales figures for June in the US, and a new Halo based comic was revealed as coming in December.
