Bing has announced that it will officially launch the Bing XML Sitemap Plugin to the public.
While a preview was released a few months ago, the company has only now given everyone the green light to use it.
The sitemap plugin has been designed to allow webmasters from all over the world to easily create XML sitemap files for their websites. These can then be submitted to Bing Webmaster Tools or any other search engine.
The tool works on both Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows Server and Apache HTTP Server.
Bing brought several changes to the beta version that was released a few months ago. Now, the plugin supports automatic ping for search engines after the Sitemap is updated.
It also offers an improved computation algorithm for the value that is calculated. Custom installation and data directory at installation time is also available.
