Planet Explorers, a Voxel-based 4X Action RPG, to Arrive on Linux Video

Planet Explorers, a unique action RPG with 4X elements, is seeking funding on Kickstarter, with the promise of a multiplatform release, including for Linux.

Planet Explorers offers the players a 136 square kilometer map, that provides interaction with NPCs and numerous missions. You will be able to build towns, engage in farming and diplomacy, and even follow a storyline.

The beauty of this world is the seamless experience which is derived from the voxel engine used by the developers from Pathea Games. Planet Explorers uses a new OpenCL system based on the Unity 3D engine to allow players to change the terrain in anyway, create new objects in any form, and a lot more.

The action of the game takes place on the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System, in 2287. A spaceship crashes on the planet and the survivors are left to fend for themselves having to explore, build, and fight in order to make it out of there alive.
