Ubuntu 13.10 Is Now Based on the Latest Stable Linux Kernel, 3.10
Canonical has just updated the Linux kernel for the upcoming Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) to the latest stable announced yesterday.
The Canonical developers are moving very fast and they are implementing new Linux kernels on the same day they're launched.
This is a rather normal course of action during the development stages on the Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) Linux distribution, but this practice will stop after the feature freeze.
Canonical has high hopes that it will be able to integrate Linux kernel 3.11, but there is no guarantee that Linus Torvalds will manage to launch it in time.
Just update the operating system and you will get the latest version of kernel. Enter the following commands in a terminal:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
The Linux kernel used right now by Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) is 3.10.0.-1.
