systemd 201 Improves the Shutdown Process
systemd, a system and service manager for Linux, compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts, that provides aggressive parallelization capabilities and uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, is now at version 201.
systemd 201 has followed rather quickly after the previous major milestone, and it only brings a limited number of changes.
Highlights of systemd 201:
• The shutdown procedure has been improved and a killing loop has been added to terminate all remaining processes;
• The 'systemctl status' function will now provide information about the network sockets;
• 'systemctl status' will display information about any drop-in configuration files;
• Setting FQDN hostnames is now possible with the 'hostnamectl set-hostname' function.
